2015 Holt Community Health Fair
In April 2015, Eta Sigma Gamma hosted a Holt Community Health Fair. Our Holt Community Health Fair Subcommittee worked closely with the Holt Community Partnership in planning health screening activities for the Holt community. It was a lot of fun and even Big Al was a part of the action!

National Public Health Week 2015
The Department of Health Science was pleased to have Camara Jones, MD, MPH, PhD, President-Elect of the American Public Health Association, visit the department on April 6th as the department’s 2015 National Public Health Week Scholar.
Candy & Condoms
In February 2015, we disseminated candy and condoms on campus during Valentine's day to promote safer sex practices and disperse valuable information regarding sexually transmitted infections, including HIV.

2013 National Public Health Week Scholar
Dr. Lawrence W. Green, professor in the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics within the School of Medicine at the University of California at San Francisco was selected as the 2013 National Public Health Week (NPHW) Scholar. Dr. Green is renowned for his Precede-Proceed model, which has been used globally to guide health program intervention design, implementation, and evaluation. Dr. Green's Scholar Presentation was entitled, “Public Health: If We Want More Evidence-Based Practice, We Need More Practice-Based Evidence.” Christine Hackman and Hannah Priest, President and Vice President of the Delta Xi Chapter of Eta Sigma Gamma presented Dr. Green with the 2013 National Public Health Week Scholar plaque.
